We visited the island in March 2024 and stayed in El Cotillo. It is a lovely place to stay if you want to get away from everything and relax while you are on the island. It is very peaceful. The food is amazing with fresh fish being caught everyday and for small fishing village there is a lot of choice where to eat and we did not have enough time to try all the places.
The area is also perfect for windsurfing as there are big waves that lap the shore. There are also plenty of places to walk and we were finding new places in the village everyday.
We stayed at LACASA Apartments and we did self catering this time so we were able balance what we eat and also when we eat. The complex is perfect the apartments are very well set out and there were only 50 odd so its not a big complex. There is a swimming pool and also a great gym. The company who own the complex are building a hotel opposite to go with their other two hotels on the Canary Islands.
The company is all about looking after the planet as much as possible so if you don't get them to wash your towels daily they donate money to a local forest to plant trees. You can also fill up your water bottle for free saving going to buy new water everyday.
We are already looking to return to the island in the very near future.
